At 349 with no coupon it's competing with pretty much every other lunchbox thickness planer on the market. It seemed fine. You can get a Wen 3 blade for 369, or a 2 blade for 299. Or you could get a craftsman for 329. Or a Porter Cable, and so on... The Dewalt is the Cadillac for 99 bucks more.

I don't have money to burn, so I need to get the most bang for my buck … HF ones just seem to be subpar. Other than above (which are pretty big concerns) the tool does function. It has planed full 12 inches of multiple hardwoods like walnut, maple, purple heart, cherry, and birch and makes a nice clean surface. I'm making cutting boards for xmas.
